I’m still in Los Angeles and I just finished FIVE days volunteering for my market competitors.

I donated my time, paid for an airplane ticket from London to California and flew 13 hours to get here to work for them for free.

Why would I do that, I hear you ask? Good question…

If you want to make a BIG difference in life and get highly paid for it, you need to get REALLY GOOD at whatever you do… One of the best ways to get really good at something is to learn from the best in your industry.

I flew to California to volunteer with what I believe to be the best personal development training company. For FIVE solid days, I worked 17 hour a day from 8am – 1am, carrying boxes, running errands and helping out.

What I learned about organizing seminars these last FIVE days would have taken me years of trial and error to figure out. I scored big time by helping them.

So, are you still battling to get ahead?

Well, you too can get your hands dirty, and benefit from the years of experience that the masters of your industry have gained. Here’s how to do it.

HOW TO GET YOUR HANDS DIRTY

  1. Identify the top FIVE performing people or companies in your area of interest.
  2. Figure out WHAT you could offer them in return for training you? Lead with your giving hand. Be more focused on what you can GIVE and you will find yourself GETTING more back than you expected.
  3. Pick up the phone and call the person or company you want to learn from. Tell them that you’d like to help them out in return for some work experience or training.
  4. Keep calling until someone says YES!
  5. While you are helping your ‘mentor’ out, be sure to over deliver on value. Add as much VALUE as you can and you will create a powerful relationship with your ‘mentor’ that could open many doors.

Here’s another example of how I successfully got my hands dirty.

When I wanted to learn how to run a multi-million dollar internet business selling my CD’s, I approached my friend Wendi Friesen, who runs the biggest hypnosis website on the internet (www.designer-life.com/wendi).

I knew Wendi wanted to learn about Quantum Physics and so I emailed her and wrote something like, “I’ll teach you and your staff about Quantum Physics and how to manifest the life of your dreams if you teach me how to run a multi-million dollar internet business!”

She agreed and last year I flew to California on my own dime and spent a month living with her, learning from her WEALTH of knowledge. What a WIN that was!

We also ended up leading TWO seminars together and we’re leading another one this weekend…
