I totally agree with you, I have taught thousands and thousands of children during my lifetime we used to be able to see the gifts in the children and have time to draw this out of pupils. The crazy league tables in the UK and the National Curriculum put paid to all that.
I think there are bad systems not actually bad teachers, the system in the UK allows no time to be an authentic real teacher. I have been in hundreds of schools in the last few years. I don’t just go in for a day I have stayed and got to know the staff and children.
At Primary level in the UK adults are going around assessing even 5 year olds all the time, it’s madness. It’s like big brother watching you at evry angle.
I totally agree with lots of watch you said. I love the idea of stories, Damien introduced me to it.
Maybe one day soon I will start standing up.I am coming out of teaching and doing different things.
It’s very interesting what you say about getting the audience involved. I teach with children and make them all repeat stuff back to me and them selves, evn turn and smile to each other, kids love that one, and jump up and down to keep them active. I often stick tai chi and chi gung. I love it.

Interesting what you said about kids having addhd, we are all made to move primary children are made to sit stiull and not even twitch on a carpet.
I trained as a Biology and PE teacher children and adults are made to move.
Totally agree with you – think I will start writing about my observations – we need to change the thinking in education and start to understand that we are essentially we are animals.
It’s not the teachers it’s the system that needs to change and the amount of information we are meant to fire at children.
So many of us are getting out we saw it all before it all changed.
Some children learn from visuals, some from auditory input some from moving and others from speaking themselves. Sad that our education is based on writing I have met some brilliant children who have an ability to speak but on paper they are told they fail.
